Chapter 397 of "My Hero Academia" Unveils an Intense Showdown: All Might vs. All For One

The complete chapter 397 of "Boku No Hero Academia" has been released with the title "Discarding Trash", where All For One views the armored All Might and the state of All Might's powerlessness as mere trash that should be discarded. He considers the armor-clad All Might and All Max's condition without a quirk as useless waste that should be thrown away. He shifts his focus from Deku and concentrates his terrifying power on disposing of the "trash," that is, defeating All Might, or more accurately, overcoming All Might first. This raises questions about the potential demise of All Might at the conclusion of his battle against All For One, in accordance with a prophecy. Despite the battle's high stakes, the content of this chapter is quite short, consisting of only seven pages. Fans express their hopes for Kohei Horikoshi's recovery from health issues.

The chapter commences with All Might expressing discomfort over having beaten a young man when All Might himself was over 50 years old. All Might then reflects that All For One is beginning to harbor resentment for attempting to steal One For All. Therefore, he intends to exploit this resentment as the only way to end the battle. All Might passionately exclaims that this is their destiny and that the Demon King will be shocked to learn that someone skinless like him can stand up to him thus far. He then continues to pummel All For One, whose movements are halted by All For One's artificial Black Whip.

An enraged All For One responds to All Might's provocation and combines the powers of six quirks simultaneously: Spring Light, Lims, Physical Bus, Air Canon, Rivet, Dark Ball. This unleashes a massive explosion that obliterates the entire building, a result of All Might's impact. Emerging from the smoke and rubble, All Might realizes that All For One is heedlessly blending quirks. The scene then shifts to show that All Might, the support gear automatically activated by the utility "Cloud Dark Shadow," has shielded All Might's eyes, revealing that this part is the same as Takoyami's Dark Shadow.

All Might acknowledges that his taunting provocation has succeeded. Consequently, All For One remains fixated on talking about something that infuriates him. Hercules reports that the Armor's robe has been damaged, particularly the left arm, which has sustained severe harm. However, All Might urges Hercules to activate the support mode at maximum capacity, adapting to the situation. He commands Hercules that All Might is mistaken and asserts that this isn't even a fight. According to All For One, All Might is just useless trash.

All For One's eri gaze pierces through as he speaks about All Might, who is fueled by mere trash wielding imbalanced power that is bound to be crushed and defeated. He claims that machinery has its limits, and mocks All Might's enthusiasm due to relying on power that exceeds its boundaries. This triggers All Might's memory of his festival encounter with Deku, during which he stated that he had seen many hero spirits defeated because they relied too much on support items.

All Might reflects on his first meeting with Nana, during which she floated above defeated criminals and inquired whether she could really fight them all with just a metal pipe in hand. Returning to the present, All Might leaps into the air to approach All For One for another attack. However, All For One realizes that All Might's assault has no effect. Meanwhile, All For One grows increasingly agitated, shouting that he is not fooled by pitiful tricks, and that his victory is guaranteed.

All For One decides to halt the confrontation and discard the trash. He sheds his skin, creating an explosive spectacle in the air to distance himself from All Might. Simultaneously, the remaining pieces of Hercules fly toward All Might's legs to provide support while he's airborne. All Might, thrown off balance, shouts in frustration, "Can you stop making excuses?" He laments that it's hard to see through the spectacle.

The chapter concludes here, hinting at All For One's rejuvenation and augmented strength, courtesy of Eri's Quirk "Rewind." Notably, All For One's mental state has aged alongside his physical form. It's evident that his mind is influenced by provocations, a condition known colloquially as being "hot-headed." This occurs as a result of All Might managing to strike a blow against All For One's mentality. Consequently, All For One is no longer focused on Deku and Shigaraki's bodies, but rather fully engages in the showdown with All Might.

Considering the limited time frame All For One has, it's important to remember that Eri's Quirk is actively working, reverting All For One to a younger state. He could potentially regress to the point of infancy and lose his physical abilities further. The more power All For One unleashes and showcases to All Might, the faster this rewinding process takes place. This dynamic is reminiscent of Toga and Uraraka's battle, where they manipulated time to eliminate countless clones of Twice dispersed throughout the battlefield.

In light of this, All For One should already be integrated into Shigaraki's body, ready to seize One For All. However, All Might won't just go down without a fight.
