8 Domain Extensions from Weakest to Strongest in the Jujutsu Kaisen Series

Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the currently popular anime and manga series. The series tells the story of a world where humans must confront cursed spirits that threaten their safety. To protect themselves from these cursed spirits, there are sorcerers who use various curse techniques.

One of the most advanced techniques possessed by sorcerers in the Jujutsu Kaisen series is domain extension. This technique allows someone to create a cursed domain by maximizing their cursed energy. When sorcerers activate their domain extension, they can continuously use their strongest cursed techniques. They can trap their opponents within their domain once it's activated. However, not all sorcerers can use this technique, which is why domain extension is considered the pinnacle of jujutsu techniques in the world.

There are only a few sorcerers who can activate domain extension. Now, let's discuss the order of domain extensions from weakest to strongest in the world of jujutsu. Let's get into it.

8. Chimera Shadow Garden:

Megumi
Megumi

Chimera Shadow Garden is the domain extension of Megumi Fushiguro, one of the students at Jujutsu High. When activating this domain, Megumi can maximize the use of his Ten Shadow technique, a legacy of the Zenin clan. When this domain is active, a muddy sea of shadows appears on the ground's surface, emitting shikigami that can attack targets or Megumi's enemies.

Megumi first used this domain when he felt he had never surpassed his limits in combat. During the Shibuya incident, Megumi activated Chimera Shadow Garden to penetrate Dagon's domain extension. At that time, Dagon had captured three senior sorcerers, Nanami, Maki, and Naobito. Megumi created a shadow hole to penetrate Dagon's domain, but unexpectedly, Sukuna appeared when Megumi created his domain.

With this domain, Megumi can use his Ten Shadow technique at up to 120%. Megumi can also hide and create shadows to replace his original body within this domain. However, even though it sounds very dangerous in Megumi's hands, this domain extension is still imperfect. Using this domain depletes Megumi's cursed energy very quickly, which makes its usage imperfect. Additionally, Megumi still can't create barriers to capture enemies while using this technique.

7. Horizon of the Captivating Skandha:

Horizon of the Captivating Skandha is the domain extension of Dagon, one of the special grade cursed spirits and a colleague of Jogo and Hanami. When using this technique, Dagon can create a domain resembling a tropical beach and ocean to trap his enemies. By activating this domain with a seal on his abdomen, Dagon can summon his created shikigami, aquatic predators that can automatically attack his enemies.

Dagon used this domain during the Shibuya incident when he fought against Nanami, Maki, and Naobito. Dagon also used this domain as a gathering place for his comrades to plan their strategies. It's in this domain that Kenjaku devised his entire plan to create the chaotic world by sealing Gojo Satoru. That's why in season 1, we often saw Kenjaku and his companions relaxing in this tropical beach area.

6. Time Cell Moon Palace:

Time Cell Moon Palace is the domain extension of Naoya Zenin, who can maximize the use of the Projection Short technique of the Zenin clan. This domain hasn't appeared in the anime because it only appeared after the Shibuya incident. Naoya became a cursed spirit after being defeated by Maki when he was still human. In his cursed spirit form, Naoya can create the Time Cell Moon Palace domain extension to maximize Projection Short.

When using this technique, Naoya can create an area that appears to be a vacuum space with a cluster leading to a large eye behind Naoya. With this technique, Naoya can inflict severe damage to his targets' cells. This was experienced by Choso, who fought against Naoya. However, this technique doesn't affect individuals who don't possess cursed energy, like Maki. When Maki was trapped in this domain, she could move freely and easily destroy the domain using her physical strength.

5. Self-Embodiment of Perfection:

Self-Embodiment of Perfection is the domain extension of Mahito, a special grade cursed spirit with a mission to destroy the world of jujutsu. With this domain, Mahito can enhance the use of his Idle Transfiguration technique. When this domain is activated, anyone touched by Mahito within it will have their soul instantly destroyed.

The use of this domain begins with Mahito creating a hand seal with small hands within his mouth. This seal generates a large black environment, accompanied by the appearance of giant hand-like petals growing. Inside this domain, Mahito can unleash his curse techniques to eliminate Nanami, indirectly affecting Sukuna's soul. Because Sukuna was also affected by the domain's effects.

This domain was eventually destroyed by Sukuna, who was not pleased with Mahito's actions. Sukuna defeated Mahito and threatened to kill him if he dared to touch his soul again. Mahito also used this domain during the Shibuya incident. However, Yuji countered it by using a simple domain, eventually giving Yuji a chance to defeat Mahito.

4. Idle Death Gamble:

Idle Death Gamble is the domain extension of Hikari, a special grade sorcerer and a classmate of Yuji at Jujutsu High. This domain is created by merging a pachinko machine and a romantic manga titled "Private Tutor Love Train." When an opponent is trapped within this domain, they receive direct explanations about this domain in their minds.

Inside this domain, Hikari can transform the domain to match the locations mentioned in her favorite romantic manga. Once a location is chosen, Hikari can hit the jackpot, giving her unlimited cursed energy and automatic reversal for 4 minutes and 11 seconds. Getting the jackpot is similar to playing pachinko. With this technique, Hikari's power exceeds that of seven sorcerers, and it's impossible to kill her during the duration of the jackpot.

Hikari first used this domain when facing a special grade cursed spirit named Small Fox. She easily defeated Small Fox using this domain. Hikari also used this domain when participating in the Culling Game, a deadly game organized by Kenjaku. She managed to survive in this game by using this domain.

3. Coffin of the Iron Mountain:

Coffin of the Iron Mountain is Jogo's domain extension, a special grade cursed spirit with fire-based abilities. With this domain, Jogo can create an environment resembling the inside of an active volcano, where hot magma continuously flows from every part of it. Anyone trapped within this domain will automatically be burned to ashes. Jogo can also unleash his ultimate technique, Meteor, within this domain, causing instant destruction to the area he targets.

Jogo first activated this domain when he faced Gojo Satoru. However, instead of defeating Gojo, this domain was countered by Gojo using his own domain extension, Unlimited Void. With Unlimited Void, Gojo neutralized Jogo's domain extension, and within seconds, Gojo defeated Jogo.

Jogo used this domain again when he faced Sukuna during the Shibuya incident. Jogo knew that his efforts would be in vain when used in front of the King of Curses. Still, Jogo boldly used this domain to demonstrate his bravery and pride as a cursed spirit. Unfortunately, this domain also had no effect on Sukuna, who easily destroyed it and killed Jogo.

Coffin of the Iron Mountain is a highly dangerous and powerful domain extension. However, it has weaknesses in terms of speed and adaptability. It takes a considerable amount of time to activate this domain and cannot adapt to rapidly changing situations. It also cannot reach targets outside its range. Additionally, it cannot penetrate stronger domains like Unlimited Void and Malevolent Shrine.

2. Malevolent Shrine:

Malevolent Shrine is Sukuna's domain extension, the King of Curses who possesses 20 fingers. When he activates this domain, Sukuna can kill anyone trapped within it in a radius of hundreds of meters. This domain creates an environment resembling a defiled Buddha temple, surrounded by dark water and bison skull motifs.

While in this domain, Sukuna can execute two types of slashing attacks, Cleave and Dismantle, which only stop when Sukuna sustains enough damage. This domain extension is considered almost perfect. It lacks protective layers and is impervious to most domains except Unlimited Void.

Sukuna first used this domain when facing a special grade cursed spirit that carried his fingers during the Shibuya incident. Sukuna used this domain again to defeat Mawaraga, who couldn't be controlled after being resurrected by Megumi. The effects of this domain led to the death of all living beings within a 140-meter radius due to Cleave's slashing. This domain also nearly killed Inumaki Toge, causing him to lose one of his hands.

When Sukuna took over Megumi's body, he activated this domain during his duel with Yuta Okkotsu, who returned to Japan to stop Sukuna. This domain cannot be destroyed by conventional means because it lacks an outer shell or layer. The only person capable of destroying this domain is Gojo Satoru by inflicting enough damage to Sukuna to disrupt the domain.

1. Unlimited Void:

Unlimited Void
Unlimited Void

Unlimited Void is Gojo Satoru's domain extension, making him the most powerful sorcerer in the world of jujutsu. We've seen this domain used several times in the anime. As the name suggests, when a target or opponent is trapped within this domain, they seem to be in an infinite metaphysical space. This created metaphysical space subjects its victims to endless stimuli and information, hindering their thought processes and actions. This can lead to their mental breakdown and eventual death.

This was experienced by Jogo when he tried to challenge Gojo with his domain extension. However, instead of defeating Gojo, this domain was countered by Gojo using his own domain extension, Unlimited Void. With Unlimited Void, Gojo can neutralize other domain extensions and easily defeat his enemies within seconds.

Gojo also used this domain when facing Hanami, a special grade cursed spirit with nature-based abilities. Gojo trapped Hanami in this domain, subjecting him to unimaginable suffering. Gojo also used this domain when facing Kenjaku, who attempted to seal him using the Uzumaki technique. However, Gojo destroyed the seal using this domain.

Unlimited Void is the ultimate technique of Limitless, Gojo's power originating from the Gojo clan. It can be considered just as powerful as Malevolent Shrine. However, this domain has the advantage of speed and versatility. It can be activated very quickly and can easily destroy other domains. It can also adapt to the opponent Gojo faces, providing various effects. This domain can also be used to protect others near Gojo.

So, those are the domain extensions ranked from weakest to strongest in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. What do you think? If you have any critiques or additions, please feel free to share them in the comments. That's it from me for now. See you in the next post!
