Suguru Geto is one of the antagonistic figures in the Jujutsu Kaisen series and its prequel, Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Jujutsu High. He was once a student under the guidance of Masamichi Yaga, alongside Satoru Gojo and Shoko Ieiri at Tokyo Jujutsu High. His experiences as a jujutsu sorcerer fostered a deep hatred for ordinary humans, leading to an incident where Suguru slaughtered over a hundred civilians in a single night. He was expelled from Jujutsu High and became known as the worst cursed user. Here are 8 interesting facts about Suguru Geto that you should know:

1. Suguru's Appearance:

Suguru is a tall, slender man with long black hair, partially tied at the back of his head, while the rest flows down his back. He has small black eyes and bangs that sometimes cover his left eye. His ears are large enough to accommodate fairly large round earrings. In 2006, Suguru had short hair during his student days. Most of his hair was tied up, but his bangs still stood out. After August 2007, when Suguru became a cursed user, his hair started growing long, reflecting its length in 2017. As a student, Suguru wore the standard Jujutsu High uniform. When disguised as a Buddhist monk, Suguru wore appropriate attire, including a gold-colored kāṣāya robe over a black kimono. His monk appearance was complemented by white tabi socks and zōri sandals.

2. Suguru's Personality:

Suguru harbors a strong hatred for ordinary humans, often referring to them as "monkeys." He believes that sorcerers are a superior race and the next stage in human evolution. Arrogant and disdainful towards ordinary humans, Suguru employs a false persona to lure those vulnerable to curses. He finds ordinary humans so repulsive that he sprays himself to cleanse the "monkey smell." He perceives monkeys as having only two roles in their relationship with him: money-collecting monkeys and curse-collecting monkeys. If they fail in their roles, Suguru willingly lets curses kill them without remorse. In contrast, Suguru cares deeply for fellow cursed users, considering his comrades as family. They admire Suguru for placing sorcerers as the primary race and hope he will become the ruler of the jujutsu world. Suguru even shows courtesy to jujutsu sorcerers, though this is usually done under one of his false personas. He pretends to befriend Yuta Okkotsu with the full intention of killing him in the future and insults one of his friends immediately after displaying a friendly attitude. Suguru explains to Yuta that sorcerers live in a paradox where the strong rule the weak. Jujutsu sorcerers exist to serve ordinary humans without appreciation. Humans have hindered their own evolution, and to ensure their survival as a species and eradicate curses entirely, humans must realize a world containing only sorcerers by killing all ordinary humans. After defeating Yuta's classmates, Suguru cries and expresses the joy he feels seeing young sorcerers working together to protect each other. With a mad smile, Suguru screams and declares it's the kind of world he longs for. Suguru claims he doesn't want to kill Yuta but has no choice for the future of his vision. While fighting Yuta, Suguru explains how foolish he is to think humans created the concept of gods when sorcerers already exist. He believes monkeys refuse to acknowledge the existence of superior physical beings and feels disgusted by their arrogant presence. Afterward, Satoru confronts his former friend and admits he trusts Suguru enough not to kill potential young sorcerers. In the end, Suguru uses his final moments to tell Satoru that he cannot be happy in this world no matter what happens, reminiscing about their time at Jujutsu High. Suguru even tells Satoru he should curse him in the end, but the bond still exists between them after everything that happened.

3. Suguru's Background:

As a jujutsu student alongside his friend Satoru, Suguru initially believed that jujutsu sorcerers existed to protect ordinary humans. Satoru argued that Suguru shouldn't take pride in being correct and applying reason to jujutsu is foolish. Their ideological clash led to arguments and clashes as young men. Suguru was a much more refined and polite young man at that time, especially compared to Satoru. He understood the importance of courtesy and carried himself with dignity as a jujutsu sorcerer. Satoru, in his opinion, had an overly rough attitude. Despite occasional disagreements, Suguru and Satoru remained friends. They pushed each other to become the strongest, believing they could achieve anything as long as they had each other. However, after the death of Riko Amanai, everything began to change. Followers of the Star Religious Group cheered her death, an abominable act associated with Suguru. He decided not to kill them, as there had to be a reason for jujutsu sorcerers to kill.

4. Suguru's Abilities and Strength:

Suguru Geto is one of the four special-grade sorcerers and is considered the worst cursed user due to the level of danger he poses to humanity. As a student, Suguru and Satoru were both considered "the strongest." Suguru could defeat experienced cursed users with little effort on several occasions. His collection of curses is extensive, with various abilities and roles in battle. Suguru doesn't overly rely on his curses and is also highly proficient in close combat. During his time as a cursed user, Suguru used his religious group as bait to gather thousands of curses. For a decade, Suguru became a greater threat to humanity than any other curse at that time. With thousands of curses and several cursed users by his side, Suguru had the power to declare war on Jujutsu High, the cornerstone of the jujutsu community.

Suguru understood that, despite all his resources, he had a low chance of defeating all the jujutsu sorcerers. His tactical intelligence allowed him to deceive them and isolate Yuta Okkotsu within the school itself. The true goal of the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons was to kill Yuta and steal the special-grade cursed spirit Rika Orimoto's vengeful soul from him. If his curse wasn't split between Kyoto and Shinjuku, Suguru would have succeeded.

5. Suguru's Inherent Technique:

Suguru's inherent technique is Cursed Spirit Manipulation, allowing him to control wandering cursed spirits. He can absorb curses into small black spheres that must be orally consumed by Suguru to be utilized. If the class difference is more than two grades, Suguru can absorb curses without consequences. He can also absorb curses of other sorcerers as long as he kills their master first. The maximum technique of Cursed Spirit Manipulation is Uzumaki, which combines a large number of gathered curses into a powerful unified attack. Suguru used more than four thousand curses in his maximum technique during the peak of his battle with Yuta and Rika.

6. Suguru's Barrier Technique:

Suguru is also capable of using a barrier technique called Curtain, which throws a barrier over a wide area to conceal everything inside from the outside world. Suguru can cast a curtain capable of trapping sorcerers inside and can do so above weaker sorcerer barriers as well. He used the curtain to isolate Jujutsu High from external aid and to hide his presence while infiltrating the school.

7. Suguru's Equipment:

Suguru has several cursed tools that he uses to complement his abilities. One of them is Playful Cloud, a special-grade cursed tool shaped like a three-part staff. Suguru used this tool to fight Yuta and Rika simultaneously, capable of blocking, evading, and counterattacking both opponents at once with remarkable skill. The tool can also change its form into other weapons, such as a sword or spear.

8. Curses Mastered by Suguru:

Suguru has a highly diverse and potent collection of curses that he uses for various purposes. He can summon curses from his mouth or his right hand, which seems to function as a sort of portal. He can control the curses he summons with voice commands or hand gestures. Some known curses he has mastered include turtle curses, frog curses, crab curses, snake curses, beetle curses, spider curses, bird curses, monkey curses, bear curses, tiger curses, elephant curses, dragon curses, pig curses, insect curses, fish curses, plant curses, mushroom curses, and human curses. In addition to these curses, Suguru also possesses special-grade curses that are incredibly powerful, namely inventory curses, Rika's curse, and death curses.
