In the opening of the chapter, we see Takaba and Kenjaku on stage, captivating the audience with their powers. Both utilize imagination manipulation techniques to create dream worlds according to their desires. Kenjaku introduces themselves as Pincan, meaning "pinch and change," or seizing opportunities. Takaba denies it, stating their names are Takaba and Kenjaku, thanking the audience for coming to watch them.

Takaba and Kenjaku seem to enjoy their performance, but suddenly, they fall silent. Takaba asks what's happening, and Kenjaku responds that their battle is almost over. Takaba is shocked and saddened because he doesn't want it to end on the stage of his dreams. He wants to continue playing music with Kenjaku, his childhood friend. We see two children who also share the same feelings, likely projections from Takaba and Kenjaku's childhood.

Takaba cries, expressing that he doesn't want it to end like this. Kenjaku tries to comfort Takaba, saying they did their best. Takaba then pats Kenjaku's chest, a signal to end their imagination manipulation. They return to the real world, where Takaba lies weakly in white attire, and Kenjaku stands over him in black attire.

2. Okotsu Yuta's Assault

Takaba smiles and thanks Kenjaku, making Kenjaku laugh and comment on Takaba being very amusing. However, their laughter stops when Okotsu Yuta emerges from behind Kenjaku, ready to attack with his katana. Kenjaku quickly turns around and uses anti-gravity technique to evade Yuta's attack, but Yuta is faster, shifting behind Kenjaku once again. Yuta successfully beheads Kenjaku with a single slash.

Kenjaku can't believe he was defeated so easily by Yuta, who possesses an immense cursed energy. He realizes it was all part of Yuta's plan, leveraging Takaba to halt their imagination manipulation. Yuta states he knew Takaba wouldn't be able to kill his opponent due to lingering feelings for Kenjaku. Yuta also asserts that he won't let Kenjaku proceed with his plan to assimilate Tengen with all of Japan's citizens.
